When you find your self in a challenge, trial or tribulation and ask the inevitable question of God 'Why?', I pray that the following scripture will help to comfort you through your journey.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Amplified Bible (AMP)
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of sympathy (pity and mercy) and the God [Who is the Source] of every comfort (consolation and encouragement),
4Who comforts (consoles and encourages) us in every trouble (calamity and affliction), so that we may also be able to comfort (console and encourage) those who are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort (consolation and encouragement) with which we ourselves are comforted (consoled and encouraged) by God.
You see my brothers and sisters, sometimes the trial is not about us, it's not always because of the choices we have made. No, it may just be that at some stage down the line, your experience will be used to help, save, comfort someone else who needs a helping hand. Who better to help someone to go through the death of a loved one, then one who has lost a loved one or who could support a person who is homeless and has no hope better than someone who had also faced such a challenge in the past... I think you get my picture. There is an example of this in the blind man that had his sight restored by our Lord in John 9:
Amplified Bible (AMP)
1AS HE passed along, He noticed a man blind from his birth.
2His disciples asked Him, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he should be born blind?
3Jesus answered, It was not that this man or his parents sinned, but he was born blind in order that the workings of God should be manifested (displayed and illustrated) in him.
God never gives us more than we can bear (1 Corinthians 10 v. 13), so hang on in there and remember, we were commanded to have dominion and subdue the earth (Genesis 1 vs. 28). this does not come unopposed and it often means being a pioneer and facing the trails of that, but we do have the victory in and through our Messiah, our beloved Jesus.
Be encouraged my friend, God is for you and not against you.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 (New Living Translation)
'but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good.'
